The 35-year-old rapper from North Wheezy told The Sun she hoped to create the sort of "hype" that One Direction did after their run on The X Factor back in 2010.
Honey said: "I'm kind of looking to come in at the level One Direction came in at. I know I can create that hype. I just need the opportunity to sell the records, get the right PR behind me, get the right team behind me that's really going to blow me up."
Perhaps it's no surprise Honey G is hoping to follow in One Direction's footsteps: they didn't win X Factor either but, after finishing in third place, they were still signed to Simon Cowell's Syco record label and became the biggest boyband in the world.
As well as releasing five chart-topping albums and becoming household names, One Direction won a string of awards including six BRIT Awards and headlined big money tours across the world.
The boys are currently on hiatus.
Honey G finished this year's show in fifth place and has made no secret of the fact she's eager for a Syco recording deal anyway. Simon Cowell has said no decisions will be made until after X Factor ends, as the focus is on the winner, who automatically receives a Syco contract.
"I really, really want to sell records and I really do believe I can sell records," Honey G added to The Sun. "I've shown my potential not only as a rap artist but also as a writer. And I've got so many of my own beats to pitch to them for albums and stuff and well."
Honey G, 35, has already made a pitch to Simon live on X Factor. After being eliminated on Sunday night, she said: "I really would like to get a record deal with Simon Cowell and his label, Syco. I have basically got my heart set on that.
"I know I have the potential to go far as a rap music artist. I know I can sell records. I want to release albums, singles. I also promised [my X Factor mentor] Sharon [Osbourne] a private jet and she will get one!"
As she spoke, Simon was standing up at the judges' table and smiling, although he later said: "We don't make any decisions until after the show. Right now we have to sort out the winner."
Honey G added on ITV's Lorraine the next day: "I know the [Syco] team really well now, we get on well, we're all friends. It would be lovely to be signed by them as the relationship is already in place."
X Factor continues 8pm on Saturday on ITV with 5 After Midnight, Saara Aalto, Emily Middlemas and Matt Terry vying for a place in this year's final.
