Atomic Kitten's Natasha Hamilton is engaged!

The popstar and former Celebrity Big Brother housemate announced her happy news via Instagram after boyfriend Charles Gay proposed in New York.

And a thrilled Natasha told fans she's on cloud nine!

'After the most wonderful time in New York with the man I love, I was so high on life, little did I know he was planning something very special....he proposed and I said yes!" she wrote.

"I've had such an emotional rollercoaster few days @charlesgay I'll be stuck on cloud 9 for a long time...this is just the beginning of our beautiful life together. I can't wait to see what adventures lie ahead. I love u xx."

Natasha's been in New York with Charles for the past week, sharing numerous photos to social media showing them taking in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, visiting Broadway and Times Square, and ice skating at Rockefeller Centre.

Natasha, 34, is mum to four children with four different partners.

Nightclub owner Fran Cosgrave is the dad of her eldest son Josh, 13, while1 1-year-old son Harry's father is dancer Gavin Hatcher. A third son, Alfie, six, is with ex-husband, businessman Riad Erraji. Her fourth child, daughter Ella Rose, two, is from her relationship with 5ive singer Ritchie Neville.

Natasha has frequently hit out at criticism of her personal life, specifically nasty '4x4' jibes about her children.

She told The Mirror last year: "I do get people saying nasty things because my children have different dads,' the singer explains. 'But I feel I would have been a worse mum staying in relationships that were detrimental to me and my children's happiness."

She claimed this year that eldest son Josh was targeted by bullies because of his mum's personal life. Speaking on ITV's This Morning in April, Natasha said: "As an adult and being in this industry for many years, I have to put on my armour and get on with it, but now it's trickling down. Children are on social media, they read magazines, they read the comments and then only two days ago, my son was set on on a school bus and held down.

"He was shouted at and they were saying, 'Oh your mum is a 4X4', and it just broke my heart. He was upset... but funnily enough he's the one that makes me strong. He says, 'Mum why does it bother you? Because we love you. We know you.'"
