EastEnders star Jake Wood is set to return to Albert Square for this year's Christmas Day special, according to reports.

Jake is famed for playing Max Branning in the BBC One soap but has been off screen for a year after his character was framed for murdering Lucy Beale.

Although Max was released from prison in May, after Bobby Beale confessed to Lucy's murder, he has stayed away from Walford...until now it seems!

According to The Sun, Jack will return to Albert Square on Christmas Day and shake up the Beale household by making a surprise appearance.

Jake is certainly no stranger to Christmas Day dramas! In 2008, on 25 December, his character Max was rumbled following his affair with Stacey Slater.

Stacey was dating Max's son Bradley at the time and they had been carrying on behind Max's wife Tanya's back. In a shocker, it was the couple's daughter Lauren who spilled the beans.

Bring on the festivities!
