The legendary radio and television star, who enters the jungle on Thursday night, promises he's bursting with juicy showbiz stories and desperate to get stuck into some Bushtucker trials.
Sounds like our kind of contestant, right!?
"I've got exhaustive showbiz anecdotes and 311 show tunes that will keep everybody amused up to the point where they want to strangle me!" he joked.
"I am annoyingly ebullient and I am not a person to show the 'real me' or anything as dreary as that. I think I will be good for morale."
Danny, 59, continued: "I have done no preparation. It would be foolhardy to think there is something you can do. If you prepare for blue, they will give you red! And the shocking thing is I don't have any phobias! Being buried underground with cockroaches falling over you is not something that crosses your mind or you have experience of! I am just going to let it happen like a hurricane."
And Danny is very much hoping that it does happen as he reckons doing Bushtucker Trials will help wit the boredom of being in a jungle with nothing to do or contact with the outside world.
"That would be the greatest trial of all if you don't get picked" admitted Danny. "For the sake of pure boredom, you should embrace them."
Whether he wins any stars, however, is another matter! "I am not going to be competitive, I want to be entertaining. When people put the jungle on, they don't want to see you having therapy. They want to be entertained."
"I've got no conceptions or misconceptions to dispel either," he added. "People might squint at the television and go 'oh didn't he sell soap powder in the 90s'."
Danny revealed he's told none of his colleagues about his jungle stint so they'll all be pretty stunned to see him on TV!
As for why he did the show, he said: "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! is a Broadway musical in television terms. I have been doing telly now for 40 years, I am 60 next year and I've got no ambition left to be on telly anymore.
"Next summer, I am even thinking about living in America. So when this came around, rather than disappearing quietly, I thought 'why not do one last big television programme?' and why wouldn't you do this show, it's great."
I'm A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV.
