James Jordan has warned viewers not to underestimate his wife, I'm A Celebrity's Ola, just because she "isn't one of the big characters" on the show this series.

Former Strictly star James insisted Ola knows exactly how to handle herself, despite not liking confrontation, joking: "If she can be married to me for thirteen years, she can take care of herself."

I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp presenter Chris Ramsey replied: "I had almost exactly that written down here, so I'm glad you said it!"

James had featured on Tuesday night's episode of the spinoff show (15 November) and took part in a video call with Chris and co to reveal how he thinks Ola is getting on in the jungle so far.

James gushed: "Ola is a very sweet, unassuming person, but when she puts her mind to something, she is very determined. She's definitely not going to be one of the big characters in the camp, but she's a strong character.

"Ola doesn't like confrontation, but she's used to me, so she can stick up for herself if she needs to," he added.

Ola had been one of the first four celebrities to face a bushtucker trial and joined Sam Quek, Jordan Banjo and Scarlett Moffatt in the Tomb of Torment. Recalling the terrifying ten minutes Ola had spent in the confined space, in the dark and covered in critters, James remarked: "There's no way I could [have done] it!"

"It's so difficult to watch," he said. "When Ola was keeping her mouth closed, I didn't know it was physically possible to scream with your mouth closed. She proved me wrong... [Ola] looked completely petrified. [I'm] very proud of her. Very, very proud."

Making reference to Ola and her campmates winning the full ten stars from their trial, James said: "I think she is probably eating better than I am at the moment because she's not here to cook for me!"

Having done one trial, Ola has been given a break from viewers and won't face another bushtucker delight just yet.

Next up are Scarlett Moffatt and Carol Vorderman and they'll be taking on the Big Bush Bake Off - this series first eating trial, which includes camel nipples on the menu. Gross.

Jordan is also up for another trial and will join Wayne Bridge, Adam Thomas and Joel Dommett for Stranded. For this trial, the boys will have to use morse code to try and signal words back to camp for the others to guess correctly. Each correct word earns a meal for camp, but of course, the boys will have to deal with a slew of bugs and more throughout!

In other jungle news, it has been confirmed that camp will be welcoming two new arrivals. Danny Baker and Martin Roberts will be joining the others in the jungle as latecomers.

ITV have released official pictures of the pair, but no further details of their addition to camp have been given as of yet.

I'm A Celebrity continues tonight on ITV.
