The former TOWIE star revealed her new look on ITV's This Morning, after giving the show access to the full process she went through with her nose. Ferne allowed cameras into her hospital room before and after the procedure, and has now explained she purposely had wanted to be completely honest about having the surgery done.
Speaking to Daily Mail, Ferne said: "The reason I was so honest about it, is that I couldn't be bothered with the backlash and people who think they have the right to tweet you about what they think."
That hasn't meant Ferne has gone without those accusing her of 'promoting plastic surgery' and hitting back at her critics, she added: "It's just rubbish because you can see what type of girl I am. I'm not that 'surge' looking girl. It's not like I'm a walking plastic surgery promoter. It was just my one insecurity."
"I'm still a big believer in learning to love yourself from the inside," she said.
Ferne explained during her appearance on This Morning that she had wanted the surgery to be subtle.
She said: "I didn't want to change my whole face. It was just this one thing that bugged me my whole life, especially when I was a teenager and got teased about it at school. Boys used to call me goose and that made it become an insecurity."
"For me, when I look in the mirror, from the front it looks very similar to what it was before," Ferne continued. "But the profile - the bumps gone and it is completely different. It was something I did for myself, not Twitter trolls, journalists, boys at school. It was a personal thing."
Ferne had often spoken about her insecurities over her nose, including during her time in the I'm A Celeb jungle. She told her fellow campmates: "I know it's really shallow and you should love everything about yourself, but I would love to change my nose... I'm just unhappy with it. I'm grateful with what I've been given and try to make the best but that's the one thing I'd like to change."
The reality star turned presenter isn't the only celebrity to have undergone cosmetic work on their nose, as Geordie Shore stars Charlotte Crosby and Chloe Ferry have done the same, as well as Ferne's former co-star Mario Falcone.
She supported Mario's decision to go under the knife and joined him on This Morning to discuss his decision to turn to cosmetic surgery.
Mario said: "I had a nose job because I didn't like it, now I like it and I'm happy."
