Fans have noticed that Emily is often seen performing in bare feet on The X Factor and now she has finally spilled all on why she ditches the shoes.
One fan tweeted Emily to say they were "curious" about why she "never wears shoes." Replying, Emily revealed: "Thank you! I will let you into a secret...I put heels on to start with and then every time I discover I can't walk in them."
Who knew?! To be fair, sporting heels while performing live can't be an easy feat. Imagine the nerves!
Thank you! I will let you into a secret...I put heels on to start with and then every time I discover I can't walk in themI'm hopeless!! https://t.co/t88NYtkxqy— Emily Middlemas (@emilymiddlemas_) November 14, 2016
Emily's tweet came after she successfully made it through to the final six of The X Factor. She had performed 'Wishing On A Star' for disco week, but was given mixed reviews from the judging panel.
While they were in agreement that Emily has a great voice, Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger all claimed they would like too see more personality from Emily.
Louis said: "It was a little bit of an anticlimax for me. Emily you didn't move at all, you just stood there and sang. I don't think it was good enough, I blame Simon."
"You're playing it safe with her every week," he told Simon, prompting the music mogul to hit back: "How is that playing it safe? What else do you want her to do? Cartwheels, Louis?"
Sharon, meanwhile, said: "I really want to see another side of you. I need to see your personality and you moving around the stage... let it go next week. The voice is there, I want to see the whole package."
Nicole added: "I love your voice, it's haunting, but I have to agree with Louis and Mrs O, though. I blame this on Simon, the production just swallowed you up."
Emily is currently dating fellow contestant Ryan Lawrie, and while she was deemed safe in Sunday night's results show, Ryan found himself in the bottom two.
He had to sing against Sam Lavery and kept his place in the competition, after the judges' vote was sent to deadlock. Not all viewers agreed with Sharon's decision to take the vote to deadlock and claimed Sam should have been saved instead.
This life's not easy, I'm not made out of steel. Don't forget that I'm human, don't forget that I'm real.— Ryan Lawrie (@RyanLawrie_) November 14, 2016
Responding to his critics on Twitter, Ryan cryptically tweeted: "This life's not easy, I'm not made out of steel. Don't forget that I'm human, don't forget that I'm real."
Emily, meanwhile, has said it's "horrible" waiting for the results each week - especially as she is worrying over Ryan's fate as well as hers.
Speaking on The Xtra Factor, Emily said: "When the results come, I have so many mixed emotions. When they shout my name out, I'm thinking about him as well... You just want his name to be shouted out. I feel like it's me as well because we are one person."
The X Factor continues on Saturday 19 November on ITV.
