Craig had been chatting with hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford about his comeback to the charts and revealed his single 'All We Needed' has been chosen as this year's Children In Need single.

35-year-old Craig revealed it had been "amazing" to be asked by Children In Need and be involved with this year's appeal show.

Ruth then addressed Craig and asked: "Talking about a special appeal, would you mind if we brought on a young lad? He's a big fan of yours. He can be a bit irritating sometimes, but his heart is in the right place."

Turns out she was talking about Rylan and he was SO excited to be perched next to Craig.

So much so, that he asked Craig for his autograph live on air, telling the 'Seven Days' singer he "can keep the pen if he likes".

Holding his signed copy up to the camera, Rylan then said: "You all took the mick out of me on X Factor... look at me now! Look at me now!"

Rylan also admitted that Craig's track 'Fill Me In' was his karaoke song, referencing the lyrics as he joked: "I was also checking that girl next door for many a year," and he publicly thanked Craig, on behalf of the nation, for making a return to the music biz.

Oh, and he also offered Craig a place to stay in his spare room telling husband Dan: "I'm bringing Craig home."

Prior to Craig's interview, Rylan had gushed about Craig on Twitter. He tweeted: "I'm meeting @CraigDavid tomorrow.... THIS IS NOT A DRILL!" Before adding: "Winning in life.... absolute PLEASURE @CraigDavid."

Craig, meanwhile, was full of praise about Rylan too.

He said: "What a lovely guy. I'm going to hype you up because you have said some wonderful things... it's such a good feeling."

Craig added: "To come back and have the album go to number one and so many people up and down the country saying, 'Wow, we're so happy to have you back,' and even young kids saying to me, 'We've just discovered this new kid called Craig David' That's crazy.

"I feel like that 17-year-old kid again, full of enthusiasm and just wanting to get on stage and perform."

Here's how Twitter reacted to Rylan's fan-girling:
