James Arthur has revealed that he will be collaborating with his X Factor mentor Nicole Scherzinger on a remake of one of the tracks from his new album.

The singer has said that Nicole will feature on a new version of 'Let Me Love The Lonely' and sing the parts originally recorded by Polish singer Marina Luczenko.

James told The Sun: "We thought we should give Nicole a shout."

He explained that the pair had booked in a recording session for Nicole to lay down her vocals, but she had been unwell and they've since been forced to re-schedule.

It won't be the first time James and Nicole have sung together as they actually took to the stage during The X Factor final back in 2012 to sing 'Make You Feel My Love'. James went on to win the series.

James' comments come after he claimed he had reached out to both Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora to feature on his new album, but had been ignored.

In a different interview with The Sun, James said: "It was tough to get people involved in this one, because I don't think anyone expected me to come back. I was calling Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora, all these guys, saying, 'Do you want to sing this line?' but I got nothing."

Despite not hearing back from the girls, James did add that Ellie did get in touch after James had released his comeback single 'Say You Won't Let Go' to offer her support.

Nicole, meanwhile, has been full of praise when it comes to James since they met on The X Factor four years ago.

Speaking to Reveal in October, she told us: "It's been really hard for James, I'm not going to lie. There's been a lot of negativity out there, unnecessarily, and haters. I've always told him, 'Put it in the music, I know it's hard, but if it's meant to be, it will happen.'

"I'm so proud. It's just so great to see that he is on top now. I've always thought the world of him."
