A funny tweet sent by Dec from the duo's Twitter account referenced *that* conspiracy theory after a follower made a quip about the US Presidential Election result.

The Twitter user had mused that perhaps the whole Donald Trump being named the next American President was actually just part of an Ant & Dec undercover challenge for Saturday Night Takewaway.

But Dec replied: "Sorry, we're busy being Honey G."

Rapper Honey G, 35, is this year's most controversial contestant on X Factor. Despite making it safely through to week six, she's still being plagued by accusations she's fake, a novelty act or playing a huge prank on everybody where she'll suddenly pull off her hat and sunglasses and say, 'Gotcha!'

Honey G, however, has dismissed all negativity towards her, saying she doesn't listen and instead focuses her energy on the competition.

"I've seen some stuff in the press, sometimes when I see things that are negative I just don't click on them anymore," she recently told ITV's This Morning.

"All the haters who have given the press stories about me, all these people are just haters, all the haters need to check themselves, they're never gonna get anywhere while they're preaching all this hate so they better not give up their day jobs."

Meanwhile, Ant added of the election: "Well the public have had their say and voted. That's Democracy. You can too from Sunday.... #ImACeleb."

The pair also retweeted one user who pointed out: "Love how America is waiting for the presidential election and we're waiting to watch celebrities eat kangaroo boll*cks again."

So true!
