"They've asked me to do I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! before and I've always said no, but this year, I got excited," she said.
"I am at the stage in my life where it's good to be challenged. I know it is a bit extreme to go into the jungle but I want to step outside my comfort zone."
"I live with my boyfriend, I am on the phone constantly, I speak to my family and friends all the time and I am so used to having them around me. I am always thinking about food as well so to suddenly be far away with no creature comforts is going to be a challenge."
"What an experience this is," she continued. "There will be no distractions apart from the hideous things that come out day by day and you will have time alone to think about all the things around you. It's a great show, I enjoy watching it and now I'm going to see if I enjoy doing it."
The 44-year-old arrived in the jungle on Sunday night alongside nine other famous faces, with two more on the way this week.
So far she hasn't had to tackle any Bushtucker Trials but when her time comes, Lisa's determined to give it her all, no matter how gross the situation is!
"The trials from previous years look hideous but I am also curious to see what the food will be like. A kangaroo anus is all furry and gross but curiosity has got the better of me!" she said.
"Nothing is going to kill me and so you have to rise to the challenge."
"I just want to prove I can face fears," she added. "You've got to jump in with your feet first and think 'what is the worst that can happen? I am going to be really scared'. That is it. This is the right time for me."
I'm A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV.
