He does love Sir David, though!

The popstar took to Twitter on Sunday night to urge followers: "Try learning something and watch #planetearth2 instead of the sh*te on itv. Record and play to your kids, they will be transfixed! #awesome."

X Factor's Girlband vs Boyband results show aired on ITV at 8pm, the same time Sir David's hugely anticipated new natural history programme debuted on BBC One.

Many fans, however, were quick to point out one slight problem with Howard's tweet: his former Take That bandmate Robbie Williams was scheduled to perform on X Factor!

But Howard had already solved that problem!

He told one fan: "I know [Robbie is performing]! And that's the only reason I'm recording it so I can forward through the poo."

We think it's safe to say Mr Donald is NOT an X Factor fan…

Meanwhile, over on BBC One earlier in the night, Howard bandmate Gary Barlow, who is actually a former X Factor judge, was performing on the Strictly Come Dancing results show.

The three remaining members of Take That – Howard, Gary and Mark Owen – will take to the road next year for the 'Wonderland Live Tour' in support of their new studio album, Wonderland, available 17 March, 2017.
