On Sunday night's results show (6 November), Laura found herself in the bottom two, alongside Ore Oduba. She and her dancing partner Giovanni Pernice were sent home by the judging panel, as they unanimously voted to keep Ore and Joanne Clifton in the competition.
Taking to Twitter after her exit, Laura told her followers: "Had the most wonderful time! Thanks to everyone for the support and kind messages."
She added on Instagram: "Didn't feel I was ready to leave, had so much more to show but learned so much from the journey! And the wonderful friends I now have for life."
Laura also received a slew of support from her Strictly co-stars online including her partner Giovanni and Ore.
Ore shared a photo of himself with Laura and Greg Rutherford and said: "This show, eh!? Given me tears, lols & friends for life.. @thewhitmore I love you. That is all. #Strictly #Rollin."
Laura replied: "@OreOduba I love you so much Tina! Keep rollin' rollin'."
Giovanni, meanwhile, thanked Laura for their "great journey" together on Strictly. He tweeted: "Thanks for the great journey together.. great partner and a great dancer @thewhitmore and thanks for all your support guys ! Love Gio."
Giovanni also added: "Even if you [are] still injured you did a great job!!! Well done!"

Laura had been battling an injury with her ankle in the last few weeks of her time on Strictly and had been forced to miss her performance in week five of the show.
She had damaged her ankle in training and after it became swollen, doctors advised Laura to rest. Her place on Strictly was secured, however, and she automatically made it through to week six of the competition. She has since been dancing with her ankle strapped up and spoke of her injury in her Strictly blog with Glamour Online.
Laura wrote: "When we did the quick step I felt a little niggle in my ankle when I was rehearsing but thought nothing of it. On Tuesday and Wednesday we trained really hard. I was in a lot of pain but persevered. I thought I should just work through any pain and it would get better. When I got home I couldn't walk up the steps to my front door and my whole right ankle was three times the size of my left. I freaked out!"
She did, however, bounce back and returned to Strictly for Halloween week, where she and Giovanni made it through to week seven.
Fans saw Laura and Giovanni perform the Samba, but it wasn't enough to secure their place on the show this week. Following news that they would be leaving the competition, Laura told host Tess Daly: "It's further than I thought I would get. Just being here, the judges, people behind-the-scenes... I don't think anyone realises what goes on and to be part of that, even for a little while, was amazing.
"And if I'm going to go against anyone, Ore... I'm ok!"
Strictly continues Saturday 12 November on BBC One.
