Mark had got down on on knee three years ago in September 2013. He proposed out in Dubai, the same place where he and Michelle initially met nine months earlier, and after he popped the question, Michelle had gushed on Twitter: "We are SO happy!"
Now, the Our Girl actress has revealed exactly how Mark asked her to marry him.
During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show (which airs on ITV this Saturday 5 November), Michelle recalled her husband's proposal and told Jonathan: "It was all planned, it was when we were in Dubai and it was four days into the holiday, so I had no idea."
She continued: "He did it on the beach and there was a table set out with a waiter and candles... When we first started speaking, I did say that one day I'd like to get proposed [to and be] in a white dress and all that - the fairy tale. [Mark] told me a story that on the beach there was going to be a white party so I got a white dress.
"I didn't think anything of it, but he had it all planned out so I wore the white dress, I was on the beach... it was very romantic."
Mark and Michelle later married in May 2015. They tied the knot at St Mary's Church in Bury St Edmonds, before hosting a lavish reception at Hengrave Hall in Suffolk for their family and friends.
Both Mark and Michelle have since gushed about married life.
Michelle told Hello magazine earlier this year: "He's my best friend. I love that he's a gentleman. I'm feeling very lucky," while Mark said in another interview with the publication: "People always say, 'Oh enjoy your dating days, they're the best.' And they're great, don't get me wrong, but being married tops it all. You know you're each other's forever and it is such a special feeling."
Since then, the couple have constantly been asked about when they will be starting a family together, and during a joint appearance at the Pride of Britain Awards, Mark and Michelle revealed that children aren't yet on the cards.
While Michelle admitted she has always said she is "broody," she claimed that herself and Mark have no plans to have a baby just yet.
She told The Mirror: "I love children, I've always said that I'm broody... but we're not planning anything of yet."
Mark added: "Not yet, not yet."
Their appearance at the awards came after they recently returned to Dubai for a romantic break together.
The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturday 5 November at 9.50pm on ITV.
