Scottish singer Ryan, 23, landed in the bottom three on Sunday night after his Halloween Fright Night performance but was saved, for a third week in a row, by the public flash vote.
Michelle, 37, seemed a bit bemused by the result, and tweeted: "The Ryan dude from X Factor… who is voting for him?? Come on seriously."
She then added: "FYI, I didn't mean in general... of course. Lol #honeyg. I meant on the last public save vote... come on people I'm not that bad..."
Although Michelle didn't tag Ryan into the tweet, he still found it and replied: "Got a bigger fanbase than you babe."
Ryan's tweet has now been deleted but Michelle got a screengrab and posted it to her own feed with the reply: "Omg I'm dying this kid even responded to me! I'm honoured @RyanLawrie_ you saw my tweet .. think your response confirmed my pre-judgement."
Ryan later tweeted: "People take things out of context! bit of friendly fun! I respect everyone but if someone doesn't speak nicely of me, I couldn't give a sh*t."

Michelle, meanwhile, simply said: "Well today's been interesting."
Although they don't see eye to eye, Michelle and Ryan do have one big thing in common: both have experienced musical reality TV shows.
While Ryan is taking part in the 14th series of X Factor, mum-of-two Michelle appeared in the very first series of Popstars back in 2011. Although she didn't make the winning band, Hear'Say, she and the other four runners-up formed Liberty X, who went on to enjoy a successful career in the charts.
