During Sunday night's results show (30 October), Ryan found himself in the bottom three again. He managed to narrowly avoid the sing off, after the public voted to save him in the flash vote, and later reached out to those watching to share his hopes of making a career in music.
Insisting he is serious about pursuing his dream to become a singer/songwriter, Ryan said in a lengthy statement: "For those who have just got to know me on The X Factor. I am not just some boy who jumps around and is trying to become 'famous'. I am here for a reason and that reason is to make a career in music.
"I am NOT the strongest singer in the competition and I know that I'm probably (most likely) not going to win, but what I can say is I am a human being with a dream and I am trying to make it become a reality.
"I am a songwriter. That is my first love and my main passion. I have been writing since I was a young boy and that is where my talent is. I am a loving and genuine boy. I wish the [best] for everyone. I just wish people would understand that I'm just doing what I love.
"Thanks for the love and support. Lots of love, Ryan."
On seeing his post, many of Ryan's fans were quick to share their support. One follower commented: "No one deserves this more, been here since your first gig in Glasgow. So obvious how much music actually means to you."
Another added: "Ignore the haters! Just remember you can't please everyone. Just focus on what [you're] doing."
Ryan also claimed to his 62,000 followers that he knows the reason why he has been left in the bottom three for three weeks running and tweeted: "I'm gonna be honest here. I don't get the votes from the older generation...but I sure as hell get them from all of you beautiful people!!"

Ryan (who is dating fellow contestant Emily Middlemas) found himself in the bottom three alongside Gifty Louise and Four of Diamonds, following his Fright Night themed performance. He had sung 'Everybody (Backstreet's Back)' by the Backstreet Boys and his rendition won praise from Simon Cowell.
Despite claiming that Ryan's vocals were "a bit dodgy in parts", Simon suggested Ryan's performance was a "thousand times better" than the previous week.
Louis said it was Ryan's "best performance yet," while Sharon told him: "You have personality, you have great strength up there. Now you've got attitude, keep on doing it."
Ryan's mentor Nicole, said: "You came alive and you committed. I'm so proud of you."
Meanwhile, Gifty became the fourth act to be sent home from The X Factor. She lost out on her place in the competition, after Louis, Nicole and Sharon decided to save Four of Diamonds.
Sharon had the deciding vote and explained following the show that she had decided to send Gifty home because she felt Four of Diamonds would "make a better album."
