The reality show is set to return in a few weeks time, but former Geordie Shore star Charlotte has told fans she will not be heading to Australia and going into the jungle - despite her misleading tweet.
Charlotte had taken to Twitter and told her followers that she was doing the show, tweeting: "Yep I am going on @imacelebrity I can't wait."
She posted a slew of bug emojis, before adding: "So excited man."
Fans were quick to share their excitement over Charlotte's tweet, with one user commenting: "This is going to be brilliant." Another added: "Imagine being such a legend that you will have won big brother and im a celeb #goals."
However, Charlotte soon revealed that she was only joking. She posted a second tweet shortly after that read: "That was a joke btw."
And taking to Snapchat, Charlotte explained that she thought it would have been funny to claim she is doing I'm A Celeb, because she's "sick of everyone" asking her if she is.
She said: "So I'm hungover and thought it would be funny... because everyone is saying I'm rumoured to be going into the jungle to tweet and say I am.
"When in actual fact I am not going in the jungle, but I'm sick of every asking us and being like, 'Are you going in? You're lying to us, are you going in?' No."
Charlotte isn't the only Geordie Shore star who has been linked to the jungle already this series, as Sophie Kasaei appeared to hint she would be venturing into camp, earlier this year.
An unofficial Twitter account for I'm A Celebrity teased Sophie's addition to the lineup, and not exactly denying the rumours, Sophie responded by tweeted: "Shhhh."
Speaking exclusively to Reveal, Sophie told us that she would "love" to do the show and is holding out hope on securing a place. She said: "If I did Big Brother then I wouldn't be able to do I'm A Celebrity, so I thought, wait and see if I ever go on I'm A Celebrity rather than Big Brother."
Although, Sophie did add: "I think I would be f**king sh*t if I'm honest. I wretch at anything. I'd be so crap, but I'd just have to do it."
Other celebrities rumoured to be taking part this year include Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, US swimmer Ryan Lochte, McFly star Tom Fletcher and Spencer Matthews.
Spencer appeared on last year's series of I'm A Celeb, but was forced to leave the jungle after just two nights in camp. He has since claimed he has been "in talks" with show producers to make a return.
