Sophie and Joel have been dating for several years now and they're the longest standing couple to feature on Geordie Shore to date, but Sophie has claimed she isn't so keen to bring boyfriend Joel back into the house because she's finally enjoying it being all about her instead.
"I love Joel very much and we do get along," Sophie exclusively told Reveal. "But I'm enjoying being back and just being me, not thinking about Joel."
We had asked Sophie whether Joel makes an appearance on Geordie Shore this time round (now she is featuring on the show again), as she had previously brought him into the house when filming as a regular castmember.
However, Sophie confessed: "It was never me inviting him in. It was the bloody producers! Sometimes I was having such a good time and then I'd see him come through the door and think, 'F**k sake. Now I've got to entertain Joel.'
"You know what it's like, when you just want a girls' night out and your boyfriend comes along... Maybe if I came back full-time [to the show] and was back in Newcastle, then he'd probably make an appearance, but it's about me.
"I enjoyed [filming this series] because for once it wasn't about me and Joel being together. It was just about me. I don't talk about Joel much."
That said, Sophie insisted Joel has no concerns about her being back on the show (given its track record when it comes to relationships) and in fact, it was actually him who encouraged her to return for series thirteen.
She said: "Joel is so supportive. Everyone knows Joel loves to make an entrance on Geordie Shore. He buzzes off it, he loves it. Me and Joel were on holiday at the time and I got a phone call saying they wanted me to go over and [join the cast], I think they wanted me to sort all the drama out, and Joel was like, 'Oh my god. Go for it. Go in there Sophie, be the Sophie that everyone loves.'
"Me and Joel are in a very secure relationship. I'm not on Geordie Shore to go and shag every boy. I just bring everyone together and have a right laugh."
Sophie originally starred on Geordie Shore when it first aired on MTV back in 2011. She appeared on the show for seven series, before being axed for alleged 'offensive behaviour.'
Fans often saw Sophie onscreen with Joel, and at first, they used to clash over their relationship, as Joel had favoured going out for a night with the boys on Geordie Shore over spending time with her.
For that reason, the couple have seen a slew of negative comments over the years, but insisting that Joel has "always stood by her", Sophie defended her boyfriend.
Speaking to our friends over at Digital Spy, she said: "All I can say is f**k the haters because four and a half years later me and Joel are still standing there. Name one relationship in Geordie Shore that is still together now apart from me and Joel - name one."
"Joel's always going to be tarnished," she claimed. "But I think people don't really remember that Joel changed a lot."
These days the pair are still dating and are still very much loved-up, but that doesn't mean we'll be seeing a ring on Sophie's finger anytime soon. She added: "I'm not into getting engaged and f**king babies and all that sh*t yet... we just live in a world now where there's more to life really than settling down straight away."
