Ruby appeared in the 2013 series of the BBC One baking show and made it to the final, but missed out on the top slot to Frances Quinn.
Last night, hours before 14 million people tuned in to watch Candice Brown win this year's series, Ruby unveiled a new look to her followers.
Having shaved off her trademark curls, she simply said: "Do what you want. I realised I was always hiding behind my big mop of hair and pulling it over my face, so I was like... bye curls, hello being unapologetic. Such a nervous, skulking lil' cockroach before. No more!"
Last year, Ruby confirmed she is gay and, seemingly making reference to her sexuality, she added: "Heard yer boyfriend prefers girls with long hair."
Ruby's followers were quick to give their opinion on her new look, however, when one told her she didn't like it, the GBBO finalist was quick to argue back.
"If this is what going on GBBO makes you do, then I withdraw my application," the poster tweeted. Ruby replied: "Devastating news. What will Bake Off do without your naff ombre job?"
Meanwhile, Ruby isn't the only GBBO star who has switched up their hair. This year's winner Candice unveiled new red locks during an appearance on Loose Women.
