You see, Gaz has spent the last few series of the show either in a relationship or trying to make a go of his romance with ex Charlotte Crosby. But when he arrived out in Magaluf for Geordie Shore's new series, Gary was completely single and there was no Charlotte either in the house.
Speaking exclusively to Reveal about how he found filming as a free agent, Gaz told us: "I forgot what it was like to pull."
He said: "For me, I was single again, so it was quite strange. Scott was pulling girls, Marty was and Marnie was like to me, 'Are you going to go and pull?' I was like, 'Oh sh*t, yeah.' I forgot what it was like to pull on Geordie Shore!"
While fans will see Gary cause a bit of a stir by kissing Chantelle Connelly this time round (something he claims "should never have happened"), he claimed that for him, going out on the pull, was relatively drama free.
Gaz added: "In the past when I have pulled it caused a stir, it was like 'You've upset Charlotte, you've made her cry, you've made her do this…' It was weird pulling and having no one to answer to, or anyone upset. I was like, 'I'm not getting a hard time off anyone, it's quite weird.'"
Charlotte decided to leave Geordie Shore back in June, after falling out with Gaz over their relationship. The pair had been romantically linked on/off for five years, and after trying to work out whether they had a future together, Charlotte ultimately called it quits with her co-star a month before announcing her exit from the show.
At the time, Charlotte told fans she wanted to "distance" herself from Gaz.
She won't feature on the series this time round, but viewers saw her become topic of conversation on the first episode of Geordie Shore.
It returned to MTV on Tuesday night (25 October) and Gary had addressed the breakdown of their relationship, telling his BFF Aaron Chalmers: "I couldn't have done any more to get with that girl. I 100 percent wanted to get with that girl. If it was going to work, it would have been then."
Gary also admitted that his situation with Charlotte was "still raw" on the show, and it had actually put him off going out and getting with other girls.
We asked Gaz how he found filming for the first time without Charlotte and he told us that not having her there was a "massive miss."
He said: "My best memories in that house and my funniest times were with Charlotte. When I see Marnie and Aaron together, or Marty and Chloe, I'm like, 'Oh, I've got no one in the house anymore.' Or when everyone is doing something stupid, I can imagine what she'd be doing. In that environment, I've got so used to her being there. She's a massive miss, obviously."
Geordie Shore continues Tuesday 1 November at 10pm on MTV.
