Charlotte announced her exit from Geordie Shore at the start of June, after publicly falling out with her co-star Gaz Beadle. That meant she didn't head overseas to film for series thirteen with the rest of the Geordie Shore cast, and fans later learnt that Sophie had taken her place.
Sophie returned to Geordie Shore for its new series, but she admits it was "so hard" not having her BFF there with her.
Speaking exclusively to Reveal, Sophie addressed Charlotte's absence and claims that if Charlotte had filmed, it "probably would have f**ked her up."
She said: "It was so hard because me and Charlotte are best friends... Me and Holly sort of stuck together, we're the originals, but I just knew Charlotte not being in there was for the best. How could she go back in there and see Gary? I think it would have been awful for her mental health."
"I know Charlotte is a lot happier now, doing what she wants," Sophie told us. "If Charlotte had been in there, it would probably have f**ked her up. I know Charlotte obviously misses the girls, but I don't think she misses being in there."
We asked Sophie if she thinks Charlotte had made the right decision to leave Geordie Shore and she replied: "I just think for her mental health, she is a lot happier. She's doing amazing for herself."
As for Sophie, she told us being back on Geordie Shore was "weird."
Sophie had been an original castmember on the show and made her debut when Geordie Shore first aired on MTV in 2011. She went on to star for seven series before being axed due to alleged 'offensive behaviour'.
Fans did see Sophie briefly return along with a slew of old faces for Geordie Shore's Big Birthday Battle series, and now Sophie has made a comeback once again.
"I am buzzing to be back," she said. "Because I went back for the Birthday Battle and I was with everyone, I got a taste of what it was like to come back, so coming back it was amazing. I was back in the family."
Although, Sophie did admit: "I've done Geordie Shore for years now, but this time, going back in was so strange. Charlotte wasn't there, and everybody was arguing. The house was upside down... it was insane.
"Out of all the series I've ever done, walking into that house like that was just weird. There's no word to describe it... when I first walked in, trust me, I was like, 'F**k.' I was scared. I was thinking, 'What have I let myself in for?'"
"It'll be good to watch," Sophie said. "But being in there, phwoar, it was hard."
Anyone else super intrigued?!
