The reality star sobbed on Sunday night's episode as he told the boys he was "stuck in a rut" and desperately wanted to get out of it and salvage his romance with co-star Amber.
Viewers already knew things weren't going smoothly between Chris and Amber, with the finger of blame pointed at Chris' brother Jon Clark. Amber told the girls last week she felt Jon didn't like her, while Chris himself has said the pair don't get on.
Speaking to Jon, Arg and Bobby on Sunday night, a tearful Chris said: "I f**ked it, pretty much. She was my priority and I lost sight of that. I lost sight of everything. I want to get out of this rut and I don't know what it is. The thing is, I've been putting the blame on her…"
As he wiped away tears, brother Jon told him: "I know you love Amber. I haven't seen you like this with a girl in my life ever. It kills me to stand here and see you like this. It breaks my heart."
Jon insisted: "I don't have an issue with Amber and I'll iron this out with her."
Chris replied: "I feel like I've been selfish keeping her there, trying to figure out what I want and this whole thing has made me realise I really love her and I've lost my best friend."
Meanwhile, earlier in the episode, Amber told the girls she still felt Jon didn't like her, prompting Kate Wright to suggest: "I think with Jon, he feels like he's lost his brother. It could be any girl and Jon would be a little bit jealous of the girlfriend."
Georgia Kousoulou added: "If Jon had a girlfriend this wouldn't be happening. It's out of order."
Amber later said that she and Chris aren't on talking terms after an argument she had with Jon, and she didn't know if she could be in a relationship with him.
"I had a little bit of a row with Jon and he was really rude to me and said I didn't apologise. Chris doesn't stand up for me to his brother. I can't be with someone who is not man enough to say to his brother, 'You're out of order."
It then emerged that Chloe Lewis had apparently told Jon that Amber had been texting her ex-boyfriend, which Amber vehemently denied. "Chris said he didn't believe it," said Amber. "But I think Jon held it against me. I don't know if I've been pushed so far away now if there's any going back…"
