Let's face it, there was never any doubt that The X Factor's jukebox would land on Fright Night ahead of Halloween Week, right?

After all, producers could hardly stage a Fright Night the week before Christmas or the middle of November…

Simon joked the show would be "slaughtered" for the coincidence.

So when host Dermot O'Leary spun that jukebox wheel on Sunday night's results show, no one was surprised in the least to see the arrow land safely on Fright Night.

Shock! Horror! No! What are the chances!

(Though, we did just re-read the original press release about the jukebox and it never once mentions the word random. Instead, it says: "In a new twist, song themes for the series will be determined by an onstage, mechanical jukebox.")

Even head judge Simon Cowell laughed on The Xtra Factor: "We are going to get slaughtered for that! I'm kind of thinking, 'It will be great to be Fright Night as it's Halloween, but then I'm thinking, don't land on Fright Night, if it does land on that [people will say], 'There is someone in the back stopping it….'' You know what, you lose, you win."

Xtra Factor host Rylan Clark-Neal asked: "Is there a little man living in the jukebox?"

"Or a little gerbil spinning around..." added Matt Edmondson.

"There is a little hamster in there," agreed Simon.

Of course, social media was FULL of reactions to the jukebox conveniently landing on Fright Night for Halloween Week… including a tweet from Keith Lemon who summed up what many others were saying!

Meanwhile, it was Sharon Osbourne's contestant Relley C who went home this week, as she became the third act to be eliminated from the 2016 live shows. She had faced Four of Diamonds in the sing off, but all the judges – bar Sharon – voted to save the girlband.

They returned to the show during week two to replace Brooks Way, who left the competition by mutual consent after allegations about Josh Brooks' private life.

X Factor continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
