TOWIE: Chris Clark and Amber Dowding have revealed that their relationship has hit a rocky patch, thanks to a string of arguments and bickering.

If you're wondering why we haven't seen much of Amber and Chris as a couple so far this series, it's because the pair have been going through a bit of a tough time lately.

Both Amber and Chris opened up about their romance woes on the latest episode of TOWIE, with Chris claiming: "My relationship should be my happy place, but it's not."

He had been speaking to Tommy Mallet, Dan Edgar and Diags about girlfriend Amber and admitted things hadn't been going well between them.

Chris explained: "It ain't going well with Amber at the moment. We were arguing, like little bickering stuff and I just let it go, and then we had a proper big argument at the charity ball. She turned round to me and was like, 'You don't care. I don't feel like you are affectionate enough anymore.' I haven't been disrespectful to her or rude or anything.

"Add something else to the pot, Amber and my brother don't get on. He doesn't like her and that's just the bottom line. I've tried to persevere, but it's just getting worse and worse. I don't want to get to the place where we say things in an argument that we're going to regret. My relationship should be my happy place, but it's not."

Amber, meanwhile, told her friends she is unsure of where she stands with Chris.

"I'm not really with Chris at the minute, I don't really know what is going on," she confessed. "We had this row and I just said, 'What is going on? I just feel like you don't care anymore.' Jon is still in his ear. I think Jon still wants him to be single and to get his brother back. But with everything going on at the minute, with my mum and everything, I need someone there to support me – whether I feel like sh*t or I'm in the best mood ever. And I just feel like he's not."

While out on a girls' night out, Amber added: "Me and Chris are on and off, on and off, he's the only one in my life right now telling me that I've changed."

Danielle Armstrong insisted that she doesn't think Amber has changed, but did add: "I don't think [Chris] likes you hanging around with us, if I'm honest."

Amber then revealed that she feels like Chris has pushed her towards hanging out with her friends more, as she isn't enjoying being in his company as much.

She said: "I've been wanting to spend time with the girls more, because every time I'm with him, it's nothing but rowing, bickering, I feel drained. With everything that's going on at home, I need to be around positive people and he's not."

Fans are still yet to see Chris and Amber speak about their relationship. Can they work through their issues?

The pair have been dating for several months now, after making their relationship official onscreen in August. At the time, Amber had said: "It's been a long f**king time coming. He finally did it! I was expecting it to happen soon, but no today. It was a nice surprise. So girls, hands off now because he actually is mine."

Amber and Chris initially met via Instagram, and he had introduced Amber onto TOWIE last series.

TOWIE continues Sunday 23 October at 10pm on ITVBe.
