Speculation has been rife that we could be seeing Fatboy back in Albert Square ever since Ricky Norwood, who plays the character, teased it could be a "possibility", and now more fuel has been added to the fire.
Viewers saw Dot Cotton directly reference Fatboy on Tuesday night's episode (18 October) and it sent them into overdrive...
Vincent (played by Richard Blackwood) had noticed a postcard, thought to have been sent from Fatboy and Dot asked Vincent if he had heard from him at all. A confused Vincent replied: "No I haven't. I can see if I can find out how he's doing."
Does that mean we'll now see Vincent delving into Fatboy's whereabouts?! Twitter seemed to think so.
One viewer commented: "Why do I have the feeling #Fatboy is returning from the dead?" Another said: "Vincent & Dot talking about Fatboy... do I smell a back from the dead comeback?"
Fatboy will be back I reckon I reckon the shock on Vincent's face was he was alive #eastenders— Ben Anthony (@ben_cassidy) October 18, 2016

Knowing the writers, he'll be "brought back from the dead" in the future.#EastEnders
Fatboy had bowed out of the soap last year, after he was crushed to death in the boot of a car. However, Ricky pointed out in a recent interview with Daily Express that nobody physically saw Fatboy in the boot, meaning he could potentially make a comeback to the soap.
Ricky said: "I mean there's always a possibility."
He revealed that fans have been speculating about Fatboy's comeback and added: "Do you know how many plot twists there've been in nearly every storyline that has happened since I have left? People are like, 'Yes, you're coming back!'"
When asked whether he would consider coming back, Ricky insisted he would never "deny a phone call" from EastEnders, adding: "I've got love, so much love for EastEnders... we did some great work while I was there, and they're doing some great work now."
Ricky had first joined EastEnders back in 2010 and went on to star in the show for six years. A spokesperson for EastEnders confirmed his exit in October 2015, stating at the time: "We can confirm Ricky is leaving. We wish him all the best."
Fans have since seen Ricky on Celebrity Big Brother. He entered the house for the show's eighteenth series and finished in second place.
