Ibiza Weekender star Imogen Townley has defended her dramatic weight loss, insisiting that she did not shed the pounds to "get skinny".

Imogen, who found fame as a holiday rep in ITV2's Magaluf Weekender three years ago, has gradually slimmed down thanks to exercise and eating healthy. And it's fair to say she is totally unrecognisable.

However, despite feeling better both mentally and physically, Imogen has admitted she still falls foul of body-shaming online.

Posting a before and after picture on Instagram, Imogen admitted: "A lot of people think I only went through my transformation to get 'skinny', which isn't the case. It was a lifestyle change to become healthier, fitter & stronger, mentally & physically!

"And even though I am happy with my achievements people STILL find the need to criticise the way I look: 'Too skinny, still ugly, no arse & EVEN still fat!'

"This is absolutely mental! I can't stress enough how BODY SHAMING can & does affect people. I have taken a lot of criticism over the years & even though I am used to it, believe it or not, it still does hurt sometimes!

"I salute every single person who is on a fitness or a transformation journey, changing their lives for the better. And to the low lives who are so quick to judge...DO ONE!"

Imogen began her transformation in 2015 and, along with her lifestyle change, she dyed her hair chocolate brown and had a boob job. The star did face some criticism for going under the knife, however she made the decision after her weight loss significantly reduced the size of her chest.

Speaking exclusively to Reveal, Imogen previously told us: "I look at them and I think I love that part of my body now. It's definitely given me a confidence boost. I've struggled with my weight for many years and there's been so much negativity around it, that I am a very conscious person. So just to have that extra bit of confidence is a great help."

Imogen later told fans online that, thanks to her body overhaul, she was "the happiest" she had ever felt in her life.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Imogen returned to the UK having filmed the new series of Ibiza Weekender. She insists it will be "the best series yet".

Series six is thought to be airing in the new year.
