Strictly Come Dancing star Greg Rutherford has cleared up speculation surrounding an injury he suffered during rehearsals.

Greg is currently competing on this year's series of Strictly, with professional partner Natalie Lowe, and while he may be impressing the judges with his fancy footwork, the Olympic medallist has revealed he's already suffered his first injury when it comes to mastering his moves.

Although, Greg has reassured fans he is "fine", despite claiming he had been "unable to move" following a fall.

Greg had revealed he and Natalie had to "adapt" their jive that they performed in week one of the competition, after failing to successfully include a difficult jump.

The pair had been practicing in training, but Greg told Daily Star they couldn't perfect the move and their attempts led to him fearing he would "never have children again."

Greg said: "We actually had to adapt our jive because we wanted to do a really extreme jump into a lift. We tried... and we lost it. I fell to the floor and couldn't move. I feared I'd never have children again. It was that bad."

Do not fear, though, he was just joking about that part.

Taking to Twitter to clear up speculation surrounding how extreme his fall had been, Greg assured fans he was "fine", and joked that Natalie had unfortunately landed on his, err, lower region - hence the fathering children comment.

Greg tweeted: "1/2 Seen a lot of articles based around me being in a coma/not being able to father children after a 'nasty fall' during #scd rehearsals...2/2 All taken MASSIVELY out of context following an interview. Nat came in to contact with a certain part of my anatomy. It stung. I'm fine."

After rehashing their routine, Greg and Natalie performed their jive for the judges and managed to bag themselves 27 points. They are now in week three of the competition, after surviving another public vote.

Melvin Odoom was the first celebrity to be voted out of the competition, after he found himself in the bottom two alongside singer Anastacia. Usually, fans see the bottom two go head-to-head in a dance off and the judges then make the final decision on who stays and who leaves.

However, Anastacia, who is a breast cancer survivor, had torn the scar tissue from her mastectomy surgery and was unable to dance again. As a result, the dance off was axed and Melvin, along with his dancing pro Janette Manrara, was automatically eliminated from the competition, as he had received the fewest public votes.

On his exit, Greg had tweeted the former Xtra Factor presenter to say: "We're all going to miss the man and legend that is @Melvinodoom on the dance floor. Genuine and lovely man #SCD."

Anastacia, meanwhile, is back in rehearsals and will compete with Brendan Cole this week. She updated fans on her injury via Twitter, after visiting the clinic of a specialist in breast reconstruction surgery.

Anastacia has been given the all clear to start dancing again, given that she takes appropriate medication and her routines are carefully choreographed. She is competing in the hope to raise money for breast cancer and has insisted that, unless a doctor tells her she cannot continue, quitting is "not an option" for her.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday 8 October on BBC.
