The 17-year-old was initially sent home by mentor Simon Cowell at the Six Chair Challenge before getting named as his wildcard pick and flown to Malibu for Judges' Houses.
Sam had a shaky time there when she arrived for Simon and his guest judges Mel B and Emma Bunton only to be sent away to take off her makeup, as Simon wasn't sure who the real Sam is.
It worked though and she sailed through to live shows!
Speaking to her local paper, Chronicle Live, this week, Sam's family said they were thrilled the teenager had made it to live shows and they couldn't wait to see her performing each week.
Mum Tracey said: "We are all so, so proud of her. We've sat here on this sofa since Sam was a little girl watching it and she'd say 'mam that's going to be me one day, I'm going to be on that stage so for her to be there is unbelievable."
"Singing is all Sam wants to do. She's where she wants to be now and I know she'll work her socks off," she added. "I think [Simon] sees something in Sam and she loves him. Fingers crossed they'll be working together for a while yet!"
Also in Simon's category are Gifty Louise and Emily Middlemas.
X Factor live shows air 8pm on Saturday on ITV.
