An insider exclusively told Reveal this week that Lydia and Arg had 'hooked up' while filming for TOWIE's new series in Marbs. They told us: "[Arg] has always struggled to let her go and the pair ended up hooking up for one night only."
Fans will know that Lydia and Arg actually split, earlier this year, confirming their break up back in May. But, after clearing the air and getting back on good terms, one thing led to another while they were away and Arg has now said: "My head is gone."
He confirmed the hook up to his co-star Tommy Mallet in a new video shared via Twitter by TOWIE. Speaking about his time in Marbella, Arg said: "It's been emotional. As per usual, people's heads have gone. My head has gone... it went after I stayed the night with the love of my life. My head went. I didn't know whether I was coming or going."
Lydia, meanwhile, has reportedly said she "regrets" her night with ex Arg and has insisted the pair are not getting back together.
A source told The Sun: "Lydia can't believe she fell for Arg's charms once again. She puts it down to having a weak moment and deeply regrets leading him on."
"Arg was beaming afterwards, telling close pals it was a sure sign he was back in Lydia's good books. But that's certainly not the case," they claimed.
The co-stars had dated on and off for seven years, but finally called time on their relationship following TOWIE's seventeenth series. Neither Lydia or Arg have explained the reasons behind their split, but Lydia has said she had "no choice" but to walk away from Arg.
Their split came as a shock to fans, as Lydia and Arg had vowed never to break up again onscreen and had been house hunting together. The pair had even been talking about marriage and starting a family together, but it later became clear Lydia wanted to move on after claiming she had been "let down" by her beau.
Viewers then saw Lydia and Arg come face-to-face for the first time following their break up in Palma, Majorca. The trip was to kickstart TOWIE's eighteenth series and Lydia had told Arg that she "didn't want to know him anymore."
In a brutal exchange (that later saw Lydia criticised on social media), she told Arg: "You're not the kind of person I want to be in my life. I would like you to stay away from my friends and family... My life is my life now, and I'm getting on with it, we'll keep it that we're strangers. We will just walk past each other and that's how I would like it. I don't want to know you anymore."
Her firm words left Arg in tears on the beach, but Lydia defended her comments and insisted they had come from the heart.
She said: "James and I hadn't had any conversations for the whole three months since our split. That was the first time we were face to face and I had no choice but to address what had happened. I had blocked it out for so long, went away to Indonesia and Vegas with my friends as I didn't want to think about it. It was hard and afterwards did have a cry with Chloe Lewis. It was difficult and I'm glad it's done because for me now it means closure."
"It's done, it's out there and I've said what I wanted to say," Lydia added. "I had to be quite brutal but that's the only way I could play it – it was all from the heart."
