Strictly Come Dancing's Anastacia has revealed she is now back in rehearsal, after sustaining an injury that had forced her to pull out of last week's dance off.

Anastacia was supposed to go head-to-head with former Xtra Factor host Melvin Odoom in the dance off, but was unable to compete after tearing the scar tissue from her mastectomy surgery.

Now, though, Anastacia has shared an update on her injury with fans, confirming that she has been given the "all clear" to dance with partner Brendan Cole in Strictly's next show.

Taking to Twitter, Anastacia told fans she had news and posted a message that read: "Yesterday Anastacia visited the clinic of a specialist in breast reconstruction surgery. The doctor again confirmed that there was a tear in the scar tissue, which although painful is not permanent. She was given the all clear to dance this weekend with the caveat that the routine is carefully choreographed and she has been given the appropriate medication.

"Brendan was with her for her appointments and they have been filmed for this weekend's episode. The specialist will be monitoring her condition regularly and she will revisit them on Monday (10 October).

"She is doing this to raise money for breast cancer, so unless a doctor tells her she can't carry on, quitting would never be an option. Anastacia and Brendan are ow in rehearsal."

As Anastacia was unable to perform, the dance off was axed by Strictly bosses and Melvin and his partner Janette Manrara were automatically eliminated.

Melvin and Anastacia had been in the bottom two and the person with the least number of public votes was sent home.

That decision received a slight backlash from fans, as some had taken to Twitter suggesting it was "unfair" Melvin never got the opportunity to fight for his place on the show. Melvin, meanwhile, suggested there is no bad blood and wished Anastacia and Brendan "all the best" on his exit.

Janette, his partner, had tweeted: "I want to send @AnastaciaMusic all the positive vibes for a speedy recovery. Nothing but love for you & @BrendanCole."
