Back in July, Spencer's older brother, James Matthews, popped the question to Pippa, Kate Middleton's younger sister, and the couple are set to marry next year.
However, Spencer's connection to Pippa, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William has meant that certain 'royal restrictions' have been put in place when it comes to him appearing on our screens - meaning he may not be able to make that comeback to I'm A Celebrity after all.
According to Spencer's former co-star Stephanie Pratt, he can't be in the public eye.
Stephanie told our friends over at Digital Spy: "I feel like he can't [comeback to Made in Chelsea] because he can't be in the public eye right now - his family are under immense scrutiny."
A spokesperson for Channel 4 then appeared to confirm that Spencer is now under certain restrictions when it comes to appearing on TV. Referring to Made In Chelsea, they added: "I don't know whether he is for our show or not, because we haven't had that discussion, but he is restricted [with what he can do on TV]."
Reveal has contacted a rep for Spencer for comment.
If that's the case, fans may not get to see Spencer head into the jungle for the second time.
Spencer originally starred on I'm A Celebrity last year, but was forced to leave camp early after admitting to taking a steroids-based medication. At the time of his exit, Spencer apologised for letting down his family, friends and fans and has since insisted that taking steroids had been the "most costly" mistake he has ever made.
In a candid interview with BBC Newsbeat, Spencer revealed: "It was completely out of vanity. I had been accused of trying to cheat in Australia, that didn't even cross my mind. I just wanted to look good in the shower - there's quite a large number of viewing figures, a lot of people watching and that can be quite nerve-wracking knowing you are going to have your body out in front of everyone.
"I really regret the decision and it was probably one of the most costly mistakes I've ever made."
He was, however, rumoured to appear on I'm A Celeb for the second time this series. Spencer claimed he was "in talks" about a return to the show and reports alleged he had been offered £50,000 to appear.
Spencer has made no secret of his wishes to return to the jungle. He said: "It's been discussed. I'd like to do it. I made a terrible mistake and I apologised. I'm in a good place now."
