Comedienne Jennifer hit back after hearing whispers that she and best pal Dawn would be fronting the show in the wake of Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins's departure.
In a very frank tweet, Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer told her followers: "It's complete b*llocks that Dawn and I are 'lined up' to take over Great British Bake Off." Dawn retweeted her pal's post, adding: "Concur."
Following last month's shock news that GBBO had been sold to Channel 4, hosts Mel and Sue announced they were quitting the show. The pair were soon followed by Mary Berry, who said she would not be going either out of "loyalty" to the BBC. However, Paul Hollywood has confirmed he is staying with the baking show.
The rumour mill has since gone into overdrive about who will be replacing Mel & Sue and Mary, and while many celebs have said they will not be signing up, no names have actually been confirmed.
Among those denying they will host are Jamie Oliver, Davina McCall and Alan Carr, while last year's winner Nadiya Hussain has also confirmed that no offer has been made by Channel 4 for her to judge the show either.
