Rylan became a household name during the ninth series of X Factor which produced probably the most famous clip from any series of the talent show: his total meltdown when Nicole put him through to live shows.
Want to relive it? Go on then!
On Friday's This Morning, Rylan noted that it was "four years ago today" that Nicole delivered that amazing news at the contestants' luxury hotel in Dubai, prompting Eamonn Holmes to remark: "And look what you've achieved, my TV son!"
Rylan quipped: "I have a new set of teeth!"
As a little treat, it turned out This Morning had asked Nicole for her thoughts on Rylan and how he's grown since his X Factor appearance, where he finished fifth.
"Back in the day, when I had him in my boys category, vocals were so important to me," recalled Nicole. "He didn't have the strongest vocals but he had something about him, that 'it' factor, the star factor, and people just love him. He's a natural and a lot of fun."
Rylan replied: "I love her to bits!"
Since X Factor, Rylan's gone on to make a name for himself as a television presenter: he hosts Big Brother's Bit On The Side, the showbiz slot on This Morning, had his own talkshow this year, and currently serves as an Xtra Factor co-host.
He's also had a makeover: remember that blond hair from his very first audition? He was 23 at the time and memorably declared: "I had my tan done, teeth whitening, straightened my hair, eyebrows down. All my money goes on what I look like. If I can't eat, I can't eat, at least I have my foundation match colour right. Personally I think if you can try your best to look good you should do alright in life. I might make too much of an effort. I'm borderline drag queen now."
