He and Paul have been together for eight years and during a holiday to Indonesia, Paul decided to pop the question - although, Alan has said his proposal was actually his "idea of hell."
Opening up to The Sun about the moment Paul asked him to marry him, Alan revealed the pair had been enjoying dinner during a trip to Lombok. Paul had hidden the ring in Alan's dessert, and accidentally eating it, Alan joked that he thought he had suffered a dental problem.
The Chatty Man host explained: "I went to the toilet and came out to eat dessert and then I was like, 'Oh my god, a filling has come out - just my luck on holiday. I pull it out and it's this rind and then a man on the organ starts singing 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight?' Then the chef and all the staff came out and the manager, and sang 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight?', but they didn't know the next lyric, so they just sang, 'Can you feel the love tonight? Can you feel the love tonight?"
"So it was my idea of hell," Alan added. "But, of course, I said yes."
Speaking about the pair's plans for their wedding, Alan admitted that it is still early days, so he and Paul haven't really thought about much just yet. Although he did point out that he wants "a big old wedding" and even suggested he may ask Adele to sing on the day.
Now that would be pretty incredible, right?
Excited for his future with husband-to-be Paul, Alan gushed: "It feels right and it feels like a fresh start. It's a happy ending."
