Chantelle sent fans into overdrive by suggesting that she was given 'a storyline' to kiss her former co-star Gaz Beadle in series thirteen of the show, with many taking that as confirmation Geordie Shore is 'set up.'
However, Chantelle has now taken to Twitter to clarify her comments and insisted she never said Geordie Shore is fake.
Chantelle tweeted: "When did the words FAKE come out my mouth??? Can someone tell me please!!! Some1called me a cheat and I was just stating a fact how I wasnt cheating on my bf with Gary Never did i once say @mtvgeordieshore was fake (sic)."

Her tweets come after Chantelle hit back at one Instagram user, accusing her of cheating. Chantelle had posted a quote to the photo-sharing app that had read: "All lads wanna do is make sure you're not cheating on him while he's cheating on you and accuse you of cheating on him because he's cheating on you."
Her post lead to a slew of comments criticising Chantelle for kissing Gaz in Magaluf, while claiming to have a boyfriend. Chantelle, however, responded and denied she had cheated. In a comment, that now appears to have been deleted, Chantelle allegedly said: "Think you need to get your facts right! My bf knew I had to have a story line with Gary. Was totally honest with him and he was ok with it!"
Many fans then took Chantelle's reference to having a storyline as a suggestion that Geordie Shore isn't entirely real. However, she has now claimed her words have been twisted and reiterated this in an interview with Chronicle Live.
Chantelle told the paper: "I never have and never will use the word fake to describe the show. I'm massively grateful to MTV for everything, I just didn't like being accused of being a cheat when I'm not. I'm not with Tommy anymore but at the time he knew the score. I sat him down and told him that I'd get with Gaz for a storyline."
"They happen all the time on all reality TV shows," Chantelle claimed. "The show needs things to happen and if you don't do anything interesting you won't get shown. That's just how it is."
MTV declined to comment.
Chantelle has previously admitted to kissing Gary three times while filming for Geordie Shore in Magaluf. She and the rest of the cast had headed overseas to film for series thirteen, but Chantelle later quit the show mid-filming.
In an exit interview with MTV, Chantelle revealed she had fallen out with Gaz, Chloe Ferry and Marty McKenna and explained she grew frustrated with the cast talking behind each others back. She said: "I had something to say to someone, I'd be the first to say it to their face. Everyone else in that house seemed to have a problem doing that. It was all Chinese whispers."
Chantelle also spoke about her situation with Gaz and claimed the pair shared "three pathetic drunken kisses", but she quickly stopped things from going any further - partly because of her boyfriend Tommy, who she was dating at the time, and partly because she felt bad on Gaz's ex Charlotte Crosby.
"Gary Beadle turned very bitter from the minute I stopped that. I noticed a big change in Gary, he wouldn't speak to us," Chantelle said. "I told Charlotte the truth, I was never going to keep it from Charlotte. She said it wasn't nice and she didn't expect anything from us but she appreciates the fact I went and told her."
