Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Kristina Rihanoff's been talking about the joys of first-time motherhood and why she's not worried about losing her baby weight.

The professional dancer – who famously announced her pregnancy in the Celebrity Big Brother house in January - welcomed a daughter named Milena on 24 June 2016.

Milena's dad is Kristina's partner, rugby player Ben Cohen.

Chatting on ITV's This Morning on Monday, Kristina said: "It's the most amazing feeling to wake up every morning and see her smile. She was three months old on Saturday and it's really incredible, there's nothing like it in the world [being a parent].

"You can read all the books in the world but I think every child is different and you have to get to know your baby. I get a lot of help from Ben, my mum and his mum. I've been open that I found it difficult the first eight weeks with the sleep deprivation and tiredness, like any new mum could say."

Kristina famously announced her pregnancy on CBB at the start of the year, gathering the housemates together just after they arrived to reveal a baby was on the way.

"I thought maybe I would keep it quiet but people were drinking, doing crazy tasks so how could I?" said Kristina. "I couldn't starve, couldn't drink, couldn't do physical tasks and it would have been unfair on everyone around me [not to tell them]. They will all say, 'She's physically fit, why opt out of the tasks?'"

Kristina and Ben have both said the baby was a surprise and unplanned, but Kristina said today she wouldn't change her life for anything – even if it hadn't been what she'd initially planned when leaving Strictly.

"I had a tour planned around the UK with my partner Robin Windsor," she said. "I knew I would leave Strictly, go on to do my own shows, but the universe worked things out differently for me. It was my time to have a family."

Kristina also spoke about her post-baby body, saying her body had changed but she didn't care and she'd never be "obsessed" with trying to get her pre-baby figure back.

"I think my body will never be the same after having a baby but it's fine, she's the most important thing in the world and I'm not one of those women who think, 'Oh my gosh, I have to get back to my pre-baby shape.'

"If it happens, it happens. When I start preparing for my new show hopefully I'll lose some weight but I don't want to be obsessed with it. I'm breast feeding and can't diet because of that. You have to be smart with your healthy choice of food. Hopefully dancing will whip me back into shape but I'm not obsessed with being stick thin."

Kristina has teamed with fellow Strictly pro Gleb Savchenko for two exclusive performances called 'One Dance Only' at the Adelphi Theatre in London on 11 December. You can find ticket info and details here.
