The popstar appeared on ITV's Loose Women on Friday (23 September) and was asked about the brilliant news his wife Emily is expecting another baby.
Peter and Emily are already parents to daughter Amelia, two, while Peter also has son Junior, 11, and daughter Princess, nine, from his marriage to ex-wife Katie Price.
At the start of the interview, the panel told Peter they wouldn't ask him about his gender preference as parents-to-be never wanted to say – but Peter interrupted to say that he very much did have a preference!
"Because I have two girls and a boy I would love a boy," said Peter, "but for some reason we have, this time, not wanted to find out, but I'm hanging to have a boy which would be so amazing."
"A boy with blond hair and blue eyes would be beautiful," he added – before quipping: "Then I'd definitely know it was the gardener's then!"
Peter was then told the Loose Women panel had contacted Jayne Wallace of the Psychic Sisters to give a reading about whether she felt Peter and Emily would be having a son.
Jayne said: "As I connect with Emily I feel a male energy in the spirit world and get the name David connected to Emily's father. He needs to tell Emily he is excited about the new baby boy."
"Oh that would be amazing!" said Peter. He did, however, say he wasn't aware of any David in Emily's life… other than her past crush on David Beckham!
Peter, 42, also repeated what he's said in lots of interviews lately, that he prefers traditional baby names. For a girl he likes Elizabeth, Rose and Mary, while preferred boys' names include Jacob, Arthur, Oscar and Max.
He was on the show to chat about his new book
Explaining why he put pen to paper, Peter said: "We did the reality show and thankfully it was a huge success, then I stopped it and a few people said, 'You're mad, the ratings are great, why stop?' But it felt the right time. In the last few years people have asked if I will bring it back so I thought I would do a bit of a reality show on paper."
