Gigi Hadid has remarked that the stranger who manhandled her at Milan Fashion Week should "count himself lucky" that her boyfriend Zayn Malik hadn't been there to see it.

Gigi had been leaving the Max Mara show when a guy ran up to her, grabbed her and hoisted her into the air as she was taking selfies with waiting fans. Gigi reacted by batting him away and now reflecting on the incident, she has suggested her beau Zayn would NOT have been happy if he had been with her at the time.

A fan had tweeted the supermodel to say: "Where was Zayn at?" Gigi replied: "That guy should prob take some time away from icing his jaw tonight to count his lucky stars that Z wasn't there..."

She added two emojis: one of a coffin and one of a skull. Eek!

Gigi had been with her sister Bella Hadid instead when the guy had grabbed her, and she later took to Twitter to hit back at a report claiming she had 'been aggressive towards a fan.'

The 21-year-old fired back in response: ""To the unknown article writer: fan?!! The ACTUAL fans that were there can tell you what happened. I'm a HUMAN BEING – and had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself.

"How dare that idiot think he has the right to manhandle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho (sic)."

Following the incident, she and Bella had been escorted to their car by security.

Zayn, meanwhile, hasn't addressed what happened on his own social media accounts.

The former One Direction star and Gigi have been dating since last year, first going public with their romance in December 2015.

Back in June, the couple were plagued by split rumours. They were never confirmed and Gigi seemed to hit back at such claims she and Zayn had ended things, by sharing a Snapchat that read: "I know it's obvious, but I love you," and publicly supporting Zayn, after he had pulled out of performing at Capital FM's Summertime Ball.

Zayn explained he had suffered from anxiety, prompting Gigi to tweet that she "loves" him and will "always be proud" of him.

Prior to getting together, Gigi had dated ex Joe Jonas, while Zayn was previously engaged to Little Mix star Perrie Edwards.
