The New York Post reported Brangelina's shock split by using a photo of a laughing Jennifer on the newspaper's cover alongside the caption: "Brangelina 2004 – 2016."
Pretty bold, right?
(FYI: The original photo was taken at Jennifer's Hand and Footprint Ceremony in Los Angeles in 2011.)
As you'd expect, the unusual cover has got LOADS of people talking all over social media with some slamming the decision to involve Jen as "disrespectful" or "tasteless" while some others admitting having a good chuckle.
@nypost this is so stupid, Jennifer is not thinking about "Brangelina", get over it, she's happily married now.— Alejandro* (@AlejVillalobos) September 21, 2016
@nypost Not funny! Totally disrespectful.— Maria Carolina Badel (@MCaroBadel) September 21, 2016
@nypost people who are angry about this cover need to get a sense of humour.— musicgonz (@ngonzalezzc) September 21, 2016
@nypost haha! Love it, sweetest revenge— Jenique Klinkerth (@Jen_Klinks) September 21, 2016
It's kind of the print equivalent of a meme, right? And we all know social media was absolutely flooded by Jennifer Aniston memes this week depicting her laughing or looking satisfied about the split news.
Jennifer was married to Brad when he met Angelina on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith. She split from Brad in January 2005 and Brad went on to romance and marry Angelina, with whom he shares six children. Controversially, Angelina later remarked that the Jolie-Pitt kids can watch the movie where their parents fell in love.. and, of course, where Brad was still married to Jen.
Angelina also spoke about how she couldn't wait to get to set every day, prompting Jen to respond in a Vogue interview: "There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening. I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss. That stuff about how she couldn't wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool."
But fast forward to the present day and Jennifer is happily married to actor Justin Theroux. They tied the knot last summer after a four-year relationship.
So is there any need to drag her into the Brangelina split?
Jennifer frequently gushes about her relationship with Justin in interviews, such as her Harper's Bazaar cover feature in March when she said: "I like making jokes. I'm lucky because Justin is the funniest person I've met, and we make each other laugh. Laughter is one of the great keys to staying youthful."
And she simply told People in 2015: "He's the best thing this decade."
Meanwhile, Angelina filed for divorce from Brad on 19 September citing irreconcilable differences. It's believed she's requested full custody of their six children with Brad having visitation rights. They're parents to Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, eight.
