Kevin McCloud returns for a new run of Grand Designs and we're heading to an overgrown, neglected half-acre site in the heart of Gloucestershire.

It would be the perfect plot to build a house, but there's 27 protected trees that can't be cut down to clear the site. So local plumber Jon Martin and ceramicist Noreen Jaafar are going to build a big, modern tree house instead.

Way up in the trees, with stilts screwed into the earth and featuring balconies that can see for miles, the only problems they have are actually building it and their tight budget.

It takes almost two years, but will they be able to see the wood for the trees at the end of it all?
