The Essex original had been quoted as saying she didn't think attractive men signed up for TOWIE anymore.
Quite a strong statement, right?
But Lauren's now suggested she was misquoted and simply meant to say she didn't fancy any of the current male cast.
Writing in her New magazine column, she said: "Oh please! I was asked if there was any chance of a romance blossoming when I rejoined and I just said definitely not – not because they aren't good looking, just because none of them are my type. And most of them are in relationships anyway!"
Well, that's partly true!
Pete Wicks is loved up with Megan McKenna, Tommy Mallet has Georgia Kousoulou and Chris Clark has Amber Dowding… but Lockie's now single after his split from Danielle Armstrong, as is Dan Edgar following his break-up with Kate Wright. Jon Clark's also single, as is Liam Blackwell and, of course, Arg.
Lauren confirmed last month that she's returning to TOWIE next series. She was one of the show's original castmembers before quitting in series six. Her biggest storyline was an on-off romance with Mark Wright, which lasted until series three when he quit the show. They split in 2012 after a relationship lasting more than a decade.
Lauren said on Loose Women: "I was meant to be in [the last] series but couldn't because of personal reasons. I am doing the next series, yes. We will see how it goes. I've had a chat with the execs and they are so lovely, so nice. They said they missed me and would love me to come back.
"I said I would love to come in as Lauren so people can see who Lauren is. Nobody knows who I am. I've always been in drama or in a relationship on TV and now it's about me. I have no drama. I can go in and be one of the girls."
Lauren returned to TOWIE briefly in December last year for a cameo appearance in The Only Way Is Essexmas, where she dished out love advice to Danielle Armstrong and Chloe Sims.
As an original, many of Lauren's early co-stars have now departed the show: only Arg and Lydia Bright remain from the series one cast. Lauren, however, won't be short of friends, telling Closer mag last week she would hang out with Megan McKenna and Chloe Lewis.
"Megan and I are going to meet up so we can have a gossip," she said. "She's not bitchy at all – I think TOWIE just brings out the drama in everyone. We've been friends for years. I've also known Chloe since I was 17 – she's such good fun and I'm looking forward to spending more time with her."
