Could Nadiya Hussain become a judge on The Great British Bake Off?

According to reports, last year's winner of the show could be making a return but this time as a judge.

Bake Off fans will know that it recently announced a channel move from BBC to Channel 4 and since then, everyone has been talking about what's next for the show. Hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins announced their shock exit from Bake Off and with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood still yet to be confirmed as judges, rumour has it that Nadiya could be in the running instead.

Nadiya Hussain appears on ITV's This Morning to discuss her win, 13th October 2015

A source told Daily Star: "She is hugely popular, gets great ratings, is a natural in front of the camera and knows the format and pressures of being a contestant better than anyone."

Another source added: "Nadiya's got 'it.' There are already advanced talks about how she could be involved, either as a judge or in some new role."

Nadiya, meanwhile, has kept quiet on the rumours.

Claims that she could find herself as a judge on Bake Off come after fans have been speculating whether Mary and Paul will follow suit and quit the show like Mel and Sue have done.

At the time of their exit, Mel and Sue revealed that the show's channel move had influenced their decision, saying in a statement: "We were very shocked and saddened to learn yesterday evening that Bake Off will be moving from its home. We made no secret of our desire for the show to remain where it was... We're not going with the dough. We wish all the future bakers every success."

Mary's husband, meanwhile, hinted that she too won't be making the move to Channel 4. While Mary herself has not commented on her Bake Off future, Paul Hunnings her hubby told the Daily Mail that so far she "isn't signing anything" and added: "She's very happy with the BBC, put it that way."

Elsewhere in Bake Off news, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield took themselves out of the running to be the show's new hosts, telling This Morning viewers that they can confirm they won't be joining the show.
