We're guessing you know already (if you don't, we're not sure where you've been hiding...) but Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins have announced that they have QUIT Bake Off following its move to Channel 4 from the BBC.
Yup. We know, we're absolutely devastated too. So you can imagine the uproar This Morning caused when it decided to play a prank about Bake Off's 'new' presenters.
Not cool, guys. Not cool.
Basically, This Morning took to Twitter to tease that they have some inside info on the show's new presenters and naturally, we were all super intrigued. Who could possibly be stepping into Mel and Sue's shoes? Will we love them just as much? Can they really go as good a job? Will they still shout 'Baaaaake' in the same way the girls do?
So many thoughts and emotions.
This Morning tweeted: "Who will be the new presenters of the GBBO? Official announcement on 'This Morning' at 10:30am." Before adding in a second tweet: "Are @Schofe and @hollywills taking over from Mel & Sue? We reveal all at 10:30am only on #ThisMorning."
Only for Holly and Phil to then reveal live on air that they had been put at 100/1 to take over from Mel and Sue, but they aren't interested in overseeing all that goes on in the tent of dreams.
Phil told viewers at home: "We can officially announce today... it's not going to be us. We're not going anywhere. I can't bake for my life."
STOP TOYING WITH US - that was the general consensus on Twitter... This Morning's Bake Off joke really didn't go down so well and many took to social media to share their thoughts. In Holly and Phil's defence, though, they admitted they had no idea This Morning had tweeted out such teasers.
One viewer commented: "This is not even funny." Another added: "Can't they just let us grieve in peace."
Can't believe people were caught out by the spoof #GBBO announcement on This Morning. So obvious it wasn't going to be Phil and Holly.— Andrew Hennessy (@andy_hennessy) September 14, 2016
Hold on. People actually believed Channel 4 would let This Morning announce new presenters one day after the last two quit? Really? #GBBO— Duncan Lindsay (@Our_manPLA) September 14, 2016
RE: What just happened on This Morning... The country is in a very fragile state right now. It's too soon to start making jokes. #GBBO— Katie Louise Smith (@_katesss) September 14, 2016
oh god, now This Morning become a casualty of the #gbbo bun fight.— Andi McLellan (@AndiMcLellan) September 14, 2016

Although, it turns out some weren't so easily fooled. One user said: "Can't believe people were caught out by the spoof #GBBO announcement on This Morning. So obvious it wasn't going to be Phil and Holly."
Another pointed out: "Hold on. People actually believed Channel 4 would let This Morning announce new presenters one day after the last two quit? Really? #GBBO."
