The cage fighter took to Instagram after a source was quoted as saying he'd undergone a nose job to help with his breathing after sustaining damage to his nose and eye sockets throughout his career.
However Alex appears to have disputed that via social media – although he didn't explain the exact reason for his painful looking facial injury.
Alex wrote: "Having been the victim of so many untrue stories over the last 5 yrs, it is great having social media to address the lies and misquotes. I'm tired of wasting my money on slanderous stories in court on lawyers, for a measly little apology that no one notices.
"For the record I've given no quote or story!"
Many fans were quick to ask Alex what had happened and if he's okay but so far he's given no update about what may have caused the swelling.
Alex previously had surgery on his nose, revealing in 2010 that he'd needed help after cage fighting injuries left him unable to breathe through his nose.
