The Italian professional dancer, 25, joined the rest of this year's Strictly cast for a glamorous launch show in London on Tuesday night (30 August).
While he looked in high spirits as he posed on the red carpet, perhaps the situation brought back a few memories as it was on Strictly last year he first met Georgia, 25.
They fell for each other after being paired together in the 2015 show, but over the Bank Holiday weekend, former Coronation Street star Georgia announced via Twitter that their relationship had come to an end.
"It is with great sadness we have decided to split up. There is nobody else involved. Although it was not an easy decision to make, sometimes you realise that it is better to be friends and this is one of those times.
"We both have very busy work schedules for the rest of the year so we are both going to focus on our upcoming work projects and we wish each other well for the future. Thank you for all your support for us during and after the series. I love you all very much."
She added: "Nothing I ever said about my feelings to Gio were fake before people start. I still love him very very much. But things change. Please... be respectful to me at this time by not saying awful things. This is a hard time for me.
"Gutted isnt the word."
Meanwhile, it was back to work for Giovanni as he joined his fellow pro dancers to celebrate the launch of Strictly's new series, which starts this September on BBC One.
It hasn't been revealed which celebrities will be paired with which pro dancers.
Giovanni shared a photo from the set of Strictly over the weekend, telling fans: "Here I am !! The best place in the world @bbcstrictly can't wait to start a new journey!! #excited."
