Well, we say real…
The Ex On The Beach star was chatting with Marnie Simpson this morning about their journey in the house and seeing their mothers on Bit On The Side on Thursday evening.
Bear playfully told Marnie: "I can't believe you cried when you saw your mum. You're a baby!"
Marnie, however, swiftly replied: "So did you!"
But Bear wasn't having that, insisting he hadn't cried at all and that a dragonfly had somehow ended up in his eye instead.
"I never! A fly came in my eye as soon as she started to talk and I couldn't get it out. It was a dragonfly," he joked.
"It was drowning [in my tears] and I got it out and went, 'Fly away, dragon, fly!'
"And then I had hiccups too."
Bear's mum Linda told him: "Keep strong, Stephen. You've been really entertaining. You've made us laugh. We love you dearly and we're really, really proud of you. We can't wait to see you tomorrow and give you a big cuddle and a kiss."
He later told Ricky Norwood: "I feel bad for crying. That was so embarrassing, man…"
But Ricky told him: "Don't be silly. There ain't no shame in it. There ain't no bullsh***ing. You're allowed to show emotion, you're allowed to show heart."
Bear wasn't alone in crying: many of the other housemates when faced with their loved ones' voices praising them and encouraging them to make it through one more day to the final. The housemates were locked in the garden, and the loved ones in the house, so they couldn't actually touch them or get a hug. They could only listen via an ear piece to what they said.
Marnie had a message from mum Sharon, while Frankie's mum Joan and Ricky's friend Darren were also in the house. Renee's sister Jennifer and Aubrey's boyfriend Pauly D called in from the US.
The Celebrity Big Brother final airs 9pm on Channel 5.
