The Ex On The Beach star, 26, made the comment while chatting to Rylan Clark-Neal on a special extended episode of Bit On The Side, aired live from the house on Thursday night (25 August).
Rylan had been talking about the fact Bear has survived five evictions, asking: "How much of confidence boost is it to know the public have kept you in all the way to the final when you've been eternally nominated?"
Bear quipped: "Really, I'm working for Big Brother!"
Rylan quickly responded: "Bear, that's the last thing we need to hear right now, let me tell you that!"
Obviously, being cooped up in the house, Bear has no idea about what's been said on the outside world, which has included grumblings that he's been given an easy ride in the house and edited in a way that encourages viewers to keep him in.
That whole conspiracy theory came up again this week when evicted housemate Sam Fox revealed Bear played a prank on her which affected her eyesight, leaving her fearing she could have been "blinded." She had medical treatment in the house and was given the all-clear but viewers were left questioning why that incident never aired.
Some fans took to Twitter to throw out the 'fix' claim...
A rep for Big Brother confirmed to us that Sam received medical treatment and was declared okay, but the scenes would not air on TV. That episode had been a shorter one because of the double live eviction.
Bear, of course, has no idea about any of that. When asked about making the final, he told Rylan: "It's amazing. I didn't believe it, especially at the beginning when everyone didn't like me and now they all love me. I'm so thankful the public see sense and think I'm alright. These lot [the housemates] are crazy!"
Meanwhile, evicted contestant Katie Waissel was asked on This Morning this week about the conspiracy over Bear being set up to win. She would only say: "Obviously, I've just come out so I don't really know what's going on in the papers and whatnot."
"[Bear's] a cheeky chappy. All of us will say there are great sides to him then really not so great sides to him. We actually got on quite well. I was just like, at least he's owning it and it is what it says on the tin. We never really got into any arguments."
The CBB final airs 9pm on Channel 5 when either Bear, Marnie Simpson, Ricky Norwood, Frankie Grande, Aubrey O'Day or Renee Graziano will be named winner.
