Mark Wright has denied he had any involvement in a "physical confrontation" with EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, following reports the pair were involved in an explosive row at V Festival.

According to reports, Mark and Danny clashed at the Essex based festival on Saturday night (20 August), which was headlined by Justin Bieber. Since then, it has emerged that Danny has been left sporting a black eye, after photos surfaced on social media, prompting Mark to clarify his involvement via Twitter.

He tweeted: "Seen some stories online today about v festival. I would like to confirm that I personally wasn't involved in any physical confrontation."

Danny, meanwhile, has made no comment on the reports.

Reveal has contacted both reps for Mark and Danny for comment.

Mark's tweet comes after a source revealed to The Mirror that security were forced to step in to calm the situation. They claimed: "It was EastEnders vs TOWIE, everything kicked off and security had to step in to break it up."

The source added that Mark hadn't been present when the fight first started between Danny and his friends, but later intervened to break it up.

Another source told the paper: "Mark had nothing to do with a physical fight... His mates got involved in a row with Danny and had his back after the recent drama, and a tweet posted by Danny. Mark was quite shocked and went over to find out what was going on."

They concluded: "[Mark] spent a lot of time on the phone. In his first conversation he was angry and shouting a lot but when he was on the phone for the third time he had calmed down."

Tensions between the two men initially began when Danny and Mark's footballer brother Josh Wright shared a heated exchange on Twitter.

Danny had made a jibe at Mark, tweeting: "My worst nightmare would be listening to Heart FM while eating an Oykos yoghurt. It would be like p****ng razor blades (sic)."

Josh then claimed that Mark had 'slapped Danny' at a charity football match, Danny had responded with: "My bird hits harder."
