Despite having dated for six months already, both Megan and Pete have confessed the last few months of their relationship have been pretty rubbish, thanks to the constant drama they have found themselves involved one.
Tensions continued between Chloe and Megan over *that* Jake Hall rumour, Megan clashed with Lydia Bright and she fell out with best friends Courtney Green and Chloe Meadows. They accused Pete of steering Megan away from them and Pete also came to blows with Mike Hassini, admitting that the constant agg he and Megan were having to deal with is "getting the better of him."
However, things are starting to look up.
In this series' finale episode, Pete and Megan proved that their romance is still going strong and fans rejoiced as they finally told each other, 'I love you.' It had been a long time coming for the pair, and after Pete has stood by Megan throughout everything this series, the couple have said it's made them realise how strongly they feel about each other.
Summing up how she feels, Megan says in a new video shared by TOWIE: "I'm feeling really happy for once, it's been a sh*t time, I'm not going to lie, but it's made me realise that this one here means the world to me and he will always have my back and I do, I do really love him."
Pete, meanwhile, adds: "It's not been the best couple months of, has it? It's been six months that we've been together... If I'm honest at some points I did think is it worth it? But something always kept me there and I always believed in [Megan] and I think that it's down to the fact that I do love the girl. So yeah, we're stronger than ever."
Reflecting on all their drama, which has involved Megan losing her cool on a number of occasions, Pete still maintains that she 'isn't in the wrong.'
He says: "I don't think Megan is in the wrong for a lot of things, she doesn't deal with things in the best way, but that's part and parcel of who she is and I wouldn't change it for the world.
"For me, what I think and my opinion matters more to me than what anyone else's does and regardless what people say, whether they said I should have ran or I shouldn't have got involved... f**k off. I'm involved because she's worth it."
"I don't think anyone ever thought that we would last or be as strong as we are," Pete claims. "But you can't help what you feel sometimes and I think if you want to make something work, you will make it work regardless of what is thrown at you.
"The first six months of the relationship is supposed to be the honeymoon period. We never got a honeymoon period."
"Now will be our honeymoon period," he declares. "And if a relationship's real then the honeymoon period should last the entire relationship. Hopefully that's what happens."
