Lauren Goodger has welcomed Nathan Massey and Cara de la Hoyde to TOWIE following their debut appearance on Sunday night.

The Love Island winners joined close friends Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou for a bowling double date on the last episode, marking their very first – and hopefully not last! – time on the ITVBe show.

Reacting via her New magazine column, TOWIE original Lauren said she was happy to see the couple on TOWIE and thought it was a good idea for the show to bring in stars familiar from other TV programmes.

"I'm glad [they] made a cameo appearance in TOWIE," she wrote. "They were popular on Love Island so why shouldn't they join? I think it's good the new producers are more flexible and allow people like them, Jon Clark and Megan McKenna to come in from other shows. They used to be so strict but I think this makes it more real."

Jon came from Love Island as well, joined by his brother Chris Clark, while Megan was on Ex On The Beach before TOWIE.

Well, we're totally on Team Nara joining TOWIE for good!

They only appeared for a few minutes on Sunday (14 August), but it was enough for us to find out they've been house hunting in the same Essex apartment block as Tommy and Georgia's new home.

When we chatted to Cara and Nathan after their Love Island win, they told us they would love to join TOWIE.

"[If the opportunity came up] of course we would give it a go. It's bettering your life, isn't it? Who wouldn't want to better their life? What a great way to do it," said Nathan.

TOWIE star Danielle Armstrong told us at the time: "I reckon [Nathan] probably could because he is a proper Essex boy, he's got a link there being mates with Tommy and obviously, Jon [Clark] and Megan [McKenna] have come on from other shows. If he does, we'd all be happy. The more the merrier!"

Meanwhile, Lauren could soon be back on our screens as she hinted recently she's been in talks with TOWIE producers about a return to the show that made her famous.

She told Loose Women: "I was meant to be in this series but couldn't because of personal reasons. I am doing the next series, yes.

We will see how it goes. I've had a chat with the execs and they are so lovely, so nice. They said they missed me and would love me to come back.

"I said I would love to come in as Lauren so people can see who Lauren is. Nobody knows who I am. I've always been in drama or in a relationship on TV and now it's about me. I have no drama. I can go in and be one of the girls."

TOWIE airs Wednesday at 10pm on ITVBe.
